Interaction & WarningsOther drug interactions may occur with Zovirax Cold Sore Cream. Specifically,:- Serious allergic reactions if used in the following: - Allergic to other piperazine derivatives, such as cetirizine, voricon, fosamprenavir, tipranil, doxazosin, vincristine, ritonavir, and tetracycline. - InhalationalClosely contact with the eyes. - Contact lenses may become worn out due to wearing of the product. - Monitor for signs of ocular oedema (swelling) and blockages in the cornea. - Monitor for possible signs of visual impairment (loss of sight) following discontinuation of Zovirax Cold Sore Cream.

Stages of the virus
After the itchy, tingly stage, the site of the cold sore gradually develops into a blister or a small group of blisters, surrounded by red and swollen skin.
After a day or so these burst to produce the typical open sore.
Like a sore anywhere on your body, these sores gradually dry up and form a crusty scab, which is usually a yellow-brown colour.
The sore gradually heals.
The scab falls off over a few days and should completely disappear after around 10 days, or faster with the use of Zovirax Cold Sore Cream.
The area may be a bit swollen for few days.

HOW DO I USE ZOVIRAX COLD SORE CREAM?
First sign: Apply at the first sign of a tingle, bump or itch. If you miss the first signs, you can also start to use it at the blister stage.
Keep it clean: Remove any cosmetics before applying Zovirax Cold Sore Cream. Always wash your hands with soap and water before and after treating your cold sore.
Don't skimp or skip: Apply to the affected area five times a day at approximately 4-hourly intervals for four days. With a cotton swab or your finger, use enough to completely cover the cold sore and surrounding area. Just rub in gently and completely. If you miss a dose, just apply the next time you remember and continue on schedule.
Don't share: Cold sores are contagious. Don’t share your tube or pump with anybody else.
Make it up: You can apply cosmetics like lipstick over Zovirax Cold Sore Cream, after it has completely dried. Always use a separate make-up applicator, like a cotton swab to avoid spreading the infection.
4 days max: Use Zovirax Cold Sore Cream for no more than 4 days. If your symptoms do not improve after 4 days of treatment with Zovirax Cold Sore Cream, you should tell your doctor.

Zovirax Eye Ointment is used to treat cold sores and infections caused by the herpes simplex virus. It may also be used for the treatment of chickenpox. Zovirax Eye Ointment is also used to treat genital herpes, shingles, and herpes labialis.
Do not use Zovirax Eye Ointment if:
•you are allergic to any ingredient in Zovirax Eye Ointment, including any other ingredients, viruses, or other substances
•you have an underlying medical condition, such as cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, or diabetes
•you are taking a corticosteroid or corticotrophin agonist
•you have had a cold sore to treat a cold sore, or a cold sore to treat a cold sore

Zovirax is an antiviral medication used to treat viral infections caused by herpes viruses, including genital herpes, and meningitis caused by bacteria, chemicals, or parasites.
